Vertagear Chair Review

Sun 4th Oct 2015 - 11:52pm : General

So here I am sitting in my brand spanking new chair and what a lovely chair it is. After using a Maxnomic chair for some time now I was interested to see what the other, lesser known, manufacturers had to offer. So let's take a look at the breakdown by themselves:

Adjustable seat height
To prevent repetitive stress, having the correct ergonomic posture is important when seated for a longer time. Seat adjustability makes sure every type of user from different heights can adjust the chair to their unstressed posture. Good range of height adjustability to ensure you are at the optimum angle in relation to your desk.

Adjustable 4 point armrest
Cushioned and contoured to the shape of the arm with adjustability in 4 directions gives support to the gaming arm in every position and prevents repetitive stress.Ergonomically designed to provide support to the forearm, relieving muscle strain and fatigue from the shoulders and taking pressure of sensitive areas of the wrist.

Adjustable back
Features independent back angle option. An angle-adjustable backrest to help you adjust your sitting position throughout the course of your gaming experience (up to 170 degrees).

Elegant Exterior The SL4000 is made of high-quality PVC leather, which makes it extremely durable and gives the chair a luxurious look. This material is easy to clean and maintain due to it’s stain and water-resistant characteristics.

Premium Padding
The SL4000 padding is made of high dense resilient foam, which adds great support and seat comfort to the chair. The open-cell breathing structure, makes sure that heat arisen from the human body temperature won’t get trapped inside. This gives great comfort to the user even when seated for extended period of time.

Solid Structure
The SL4000 is constructed from a steel frame that assures a solid structure. The aluminum alloy 5-star base keeps the chair solid, stable and lightweight. Assembled with a Class 4 gaslift, for better durability and ease of use. Our Class 4 Gas Lift has thicker walls to accommodate the higher pressure and stability.

Tilting feature with adjustable resistance and locking system
Our adjustable tilt tension mechanism allows you to increase or decrease the tension by easily turn the knob to match your body weight. This allows you to rock comfortably, without heavy pushing, reducing muscle fatigue.

Extra accessories
Additional neck support cushion and lumbar support cushion is included.

Soft-glide Wheels
Wheel is formulated for a quieter operation and greater resistance to foreign objects and debris

Naturally as someone that spends an unhealthy amount of time playing video games I feel that my opinion should be taken kinda seriously. From my Maxnomic Pro Gaming & Office chair to this is a very welcoming change and left me very suprised, but I'll get on to that later.

Now I will admit, assembling this was a massive pain in the arse, I've assembled around 3-4 gaming chairs in the past year, they are all pretty much similar in their own ways but I found this one to be incredibly difficult, however, it was just one area which was attaching the arm brackets to the back rest. As there is quite a bit of foam around the screw holes you really have to push down with the arm bracket to flatten the foam and get the screw in. The problem with that is it requires an insane amount of effort to squash the foam enough to actually get the screw to get in, and yes, I did actually have someone helping me and it was still a massive pain, I cannot imagine how someone that would have to do it by themselves would manage as there's a very high risk of damaging the product if done wrong.

To its credit though everything else was a lot easier to assemble and the final result is worth it.

Now when I got my Maxnomic chair I didn't really take notice the size it was designed for, which I now realise was a massive oversight but oh well. In comparison the Maxnomic chair has very little to no padding which means that it really does start to get discomforting after some while, I found myself to be fidgeting and adjusting my seating positions regularly to accommodate this but it wasn't as successful as I'd like.

With this chair I have none of those issues, it is a good size for myself and is incredibly comfortable in some cases it's too comfortable as I find it incredibly relaxing sometimes especially during the evenings.

Another fantastic addition is the neck and lumbar supports which once again, trounces the Maxnomic ones. The Vertagear ones are covered with the same PVC leather as the rest of the chair so they won't get worn down and maintain a good amount of shape, with the Maxnomic ones they are made out of Velur, they attract dust and hairs that I'm pretty sure don't even belong to me and they struggle to keep the shape so once again they become uncomfortable after a long period of use.

Overall it's incredibly comfortable and one of the best gaming chairs I've been able to place my buttocks on. Naturally this will depend on your height, width, girth etc. and how comfortable it will be for you but their website has a nice little guide on which series will be best for your body type.

Man, I don't even need to go through this, it looks fucking awesome. All the other colour options look really nice as well.

Final thoughts

So to wrap this up I would highly recommend getting one of these chairs if you're in the market for one, in comparison to other suppliers this chair is cheaper and more comfortable, it was a really nice suprise as the more popular choices are pretty much plastered on every single e-sports tournament as it is and this is a superior product. If I had the choice (which I don't) I would replace all my Sofas with these chairs.

I'd give this product 9.5 Gaming Chairs out of 10.
